Our asset-intensive manufacturing company is seeking an Accountant to join our leasing and asset management team. This role provides critical accounting support by managing fixed-asset records, lease accounting processes, and ensuring accurate financial tracking of our equipment lifecycle.

Processes:
- Maintain and reconcile fixed-asset registers including acquisitions, transfers, and disposals
- Prepare monthly journal entries for depreciation, lease payments, and related accruals
- Support ASC 842 lease accounting: classification, data collection, reporting, and documentation
- Maintain and ensure general ledger accuracy across multiple business entities
- Coordinate job-cost inputs with Service and Engineering teams for accurate asset tracking
- Assist with month-end close duties, including general ledger reconciliations and audit schedules
- Review asset and lease transactions to identify discrepancies and correct errors proactively
- Improve and maintain asset-related schedules, dashboards, and recurring accounting templates
- Assist in job costing and service billing workflows
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct financial posting issues in real-time
- Provide occasional support on related AR/AP, payroll entries, and general ledger accounting tasks
- Contribute to documentation of SOPs and process improvements
Technical:
- Proficiency in Sage 100 (or comparable ERP) strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, and report design
- Solid understanding of GAAP, chart of accounts, and general ledger concepts
- Natural ability to troubleshoot issues across accounting processes
- Curious mindset: proactively asks questions, identifies inconsistencies, and proposes solutions
- Enjoys helping others, collaborating, and sharing knowledge across the team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in accounting recommended, bachelor’s preferred
- 2-4+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a fast-moving environment
- Experience or interest in manufacturing, equipment leasing, or related industries a plus
- Background in manufacturing, job costing, or multi-entity accounting is a plus
- Experience working in environments with evolving systems or growing teams
- Proven capability to think forward and anticipate accounting-related issues
